April 2012

"Nice size room, very clean and a great sized bathroom. The bar has a nice atmosphere and the hotel was ideally located for what we wanted."

April 2012

"I have stayed at the hotel on several occasions, the location for working at Rugby is ideal, just far enough away to be nice and quiet and yet only 10mins away from the office. I agree with some other reviews that the food is a bit expensive however the Staff are very helpful and the check in/out process is ideal. The rooms depending on where you stay are spacious and clean with the free Wi-fi being very helpful. The double rooms down stairs are very good, the rooms over the pub are smaller."

March 2012

"Convenient to break a journey.

We were looking for a one night DB&B in this area before continuing our journey. This ticked all the boxes. In a busy part of the world, this is far enough off the motorways to be quiet. The road through the village passes the front of the hotel and the rooms are at the back. Plenty of private parking. Clean and modern room with en-suite facility. Dining in the old part of the hotel in front of a wood burner. Plenty of atmosphere and very friendly and helpful service. Food plain in style but good choice, quality and value. Again good choice for breakfast which can be eaten in the same bar area in front of the still burning wood burner."

October 2011

"Very impressed with The Golden Lion, staff were really helpful and genuinely friendly. Room was excellent, really comfy bed - pillows could have been a bit fluffier though, they were very thin. Extras such as bottle of water and a teapot were welcome and not expected. Ate with family in the pub that evening and meal and service was excellent...as was breakfast the next morning. Great value for money."

"Friendly not formal lovely breakfast."

"As always the staff were the highlight, they have time to make you feel special. It is so obvious that the staff like their jobs and are made to

feel appreciated. The difference between a family run hotel and a faceless chain. Excellent food and more than adequate room completes the package. See you soon!"

"Very friendly and helpful staff and management clearly devoted to making guests welcome and comfortable. Plentiful breakfast and imaginative lunch and dinner menus. Beautifully peaceful village location but a convenient base for visiting Coventry, Rugby, Stratford-upon-Avon,etc."

July 2011

"I would just like to say what a wonderful stay we had with you, it was so relaxed with a lovely friendly atmosphere, and I have recommended it to everyone who asked about our week-end."

"A great hotel - would be happy to stay here again and again

From the moment I arrived I felt the hotel was professional, yet friendly - everything was well organised, there was no long wait to check in and the room was perfect exactly as I had expected. The room was clean and had free wifi. As I was at an event elsewhere I didn't spend the evening in the pub which looked very welcoming.

There was no problem getting in late at night and the breakfast in the morning was delicious. The staff were very accommodating and very patient with an awkward customer who was clearly in the wrong (not me!).

I would have no hesitation in bringing my family to Easenhall for a weekend break and will definitely be making a return visit to try out their special cider."

"The location was fantastic, in a small village in the countryside. Very nice place to stay."

Young Couple, July 2011

"Easenhall is a quiet village about 3 miles from Rugby and close to Warwick, Leamington and Sratford upon Avon. The Golden Lion is a pub turned hotel and is very well run and extremely comfortable. Much quieter than your big chain hotels. Great breakfast. Would choose this hotel again."

Mature Couple, June 2011

Mature Couple, June 2011

Solo Traveller, June 2011

"Just to say thank you for a lovely stay at the Golden Lion. The accommodation, food and service were all excellent. Our waitress at dinner last night (a young lady) was especially helpful and the lady at breakfast this morning was also very friendly and efficient. Our visit was fab - thanks again."

"Don't spend a fortune booking into hotels close to Birmingham. If you can put up with 30 mins drive, this B&B is a little gem. Excellent service, modern/clean rooms, great breakfast, decent pub food in the evening and very friendly chatty staff. Will definitely be back when next in area . A little gem near Birmingham."

"Excellent friendly service
. This hotel is part of a good old fashioned pub, with a really friendly feel and super service. The staff were very helpful and the food was very good too, so much so that I went back later in the week."

March 2011

"Peaceful, comfortable and I felt really well looked after - just a lovely place to stay"

February 2011

"Breakfast was very good and to have scrambled egg and salmon on the menu really topped the visit. The room 211 was very good with all the facilities that you would expect from a 5 star hotel even though this one was stated to be a 3 star. In all this pub/hotel was excellent in every respect, especially the staff, in all areas. If you want a hotel that is off the track, in a nice quiet area, excellent in every way, book this one The Golden Lion, you will not be disappointed in any way."

February 2011

"It's rare to find a rural establishment which cheerfully serves a full English breakfast at 7am but the Golden Lion does and the food is cooked to order. All staff were friendly and helpful. There was fairly limited desk space in my bedroom but the room itself was a good size and the bathroom was spacious. This is a good base for working in the Rugby/Coventry area and well placed for exploring Warwickshire. I have noted it for future use."
